The museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm from Tuesday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. During school holidays and on various public holidays the museum is also open on Mondays. See hours and admission here.
Please note: the expo Superstreet is opened on Wednesday afternoon (from 12:45) and in the weekends. During school holidays Superstreet is open daily. For all other exhibitions the regular opening hours apply.
Due to the design and safety regulations, it is not possible to include a buggy / pram in the exhibition in the Superstraat exhibition. These can be parked at the multifunctional room.
In addition to the vast majority of our objects, you can also view our photo collection and most recent acquisitions on our online collection site. You can search for 'now on display', culture, area of origin and previous exhibitions.
Since 2017, Wereldmuseum Rotterdam has been working closely with Stichting Nationaal Museum van Wereldculturen, which consists of Wereldmuseum Amsterdam (formerly Tropenmuseum), Wereldmuseum Berg en Dal (formerly Afrika Museum and Wereldmuseum Leiden (formerly Museum Volkenkunde). You can therefore also view the collections on our collection site. of these three museums.
The Wereldmuseum is easily accessible by public transport, car and bicycle. Paid parking is available around the museum. From 6 p.m. you can park for free on Parklaan and surrounding streets. Look here for more information and directions.
Photography is permitted. You can only take pictures without flash. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed. Press or other professional photographers, wishing to use a tripod, can apply for permission by emailing to pers@wereldmuseum.nl.
Yes, the museum has an (unguarded) cloakroom. Lockers are also available. Bags larger than A4 are not allowed in the museum due to the safety of the objects.
Dogs or other pets are not permitted in the museum, with the exception of an assistance dog (SOHO dog) or guide dog for the blind, provided it is on a leash.

No, the Wereldmuseum does not appraise objects. You can go to an auction house or recognized appraiser in your region for this.
